Wilson Joseph with his wife Tammy and their children Abigail & Jacob
OUR STORY: Wilson Joseph spent over 15 years in the United States working in the restaurant industry. In September 2006 Wilson was sent back to Haiti to wait for the immigration process. God clearly spoke to his heart about starting a ministry to serve the country of Haiti. After learning of his call, Wilson started a prayer group with three other friends to ask for God’s directions on being a more obedient servant of Jesus.
In less than a month twelve others joined the group to serve. The group would do prayer visits to new followers of Christ. Once a month they would serve the widows by clean their house, doing laundry or just read scripture with them. Once a month they would do a food distribution to the needy families and widows in their community.
The desires of serving his community grew so great that he stopped praying for the immigration process to speed up so he could go back to the United States. Instead he asked God to use him in whatever way He desired. He later learned that when God does not
open doors its because He wants you exactly where he put you.
After the earthquake on January 12, 2010 Stepping Stone Haiti began to care for the people that were so greatly in need. On January 17 we started a kids program serving 80 kids daily, we feed them twice a day and provided activities while they learn. In late January we began working with orphanages and realized that these precious kids in Haiti wanted nothing more than to be loved and educated.
Wilson returned to the United States in June 2010 and continues to serve as a full time missionary in the country of Haiti. Stepping Stone Haiti has a leadership team of 11 local Haitians that continue the daily work in Haiti to serve, evangelize and train.
